Crafts Council Executive Director to depart
ROSY GREENLEES is leaving the Crafts Council after 16 years at the helm.
Since joining the national charity for crafts in 2006, she has established learning and participation programmes, overseen the founding of a global majority advisory group, helped develop groundbreaking research into the crafts economy, received an OBE for services to craft in 2017, and spearheaded the delivery of 12,000 art and craft packs to children during the pandemic.
Her legacy is of a more dynamic and diverse national programme, Chair ANDREW MORLET said.
"Rosy has tirelessly demonstrated and promoted the value, and vital role of craft, the craft process, makers and the sector in the contemporary world, and will be leaving the Crafts Council stronger, well placed and ready to continue its mission as the champion for craft and its positive impact on society."
Greenlees thanked her colleagues for their devotion.
"I have had the delight of seeing and experiencing the breadth of craft across the country and how it enriches people’s lives."
