Central School of Ballet has announced CHARLOTTE TALBOT as its new Chair. She will take up her post in October.

Talbot has served on the board since 2012, most recently as Deputy Chair. She succeeds RALPH BERNARD, who is retiring after 16 years in past.

A former student of Central School of Ballet from 1989 to 1992, Talbot joined Northern Ballet Theatre after graduation, dancing in many principal roles. Since retiring from performance in 2009, she has worked as Nixon's Guest Rehearsal Director.

Talbot said: “Now, more than ever, students are focused on the opportunities for postgraduate employment. My aim, with the direct experience of being a graduate of the school and a long career in the professional dance industry, is to ensure that we deliver training and life skills that make our graduates relevant and highly employable.”

“I feel privileged to be leading such a committed Board of Governors during these uncertain times for arts organisations in the UK.”
