Norfolk & Norwich Festival announces new Chair
Norfolk & Norwich Festival has appointed RICHARD ROSS, Director of investment firm Chadwicks, as its new Chair.
The annual international festival celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2022, making it the longest-running single-city arts festival in the country. It also has a year-round programme for children and young people.
Ross takes over as chair from BRENDA ARTHUR, who is stepping down after eight years in the role.
Having founded Chadwicks 25 years ago, Ross brings with him business experience and a passion for improving young people's access to the arts.
He is on the board of the Norfolk Community Foundation and, during the pandemic, launched The Sounding Board – a not-for-profit resource for businesses which aims to raise £50,000 to help alleviate food poverty.
Ross said he was "absolutely delighted" to become the festival's new Chair.
He added: "As both an enthusiast and supporter, Norfolk & Norwich Festival has long been a highlight of my year.
"The wider work delivered by the festival team with children and young people, encourages creativity and builds that most valuable of life skills – confidence.
"To be chosen to help take this work forward is very humbling. I’m looking forward to the challenge!"
