Oldham Coliseum forms new board
Chair of Oldham Coliseum Theatre Company DUNCAN CRAIG OBE has announced three new trustees to the Board.
MARTINA MURPHY is named Deputy Chair. She began a professional career in the arts at Oldham Music Centre before eventually becoming Arts Programme Director at the British Council.
Alongside this, she has worked with Hull UK City of Culture 2017, led an international programme for the UK Cities of Culture programme and established the creative consultancy Artal.
JO MOSS is appointed as a trustee. Moss left Oldham Coliseum in 2007 to continue a casting career at ITV with Coronation Street and Emmerdale, where she remains today.
Joining Moss is KYLE WILCOCK, who spent nearly a decade at the Coliseum initially as a Front of House volunteer before becoming Front of House Manager.
Murphy, Moss and Wilcock join five existing trustees who were appointed during the closure of Oldham Coliseum Theatre after it lost its regular funding from Arts Council England.
The trustees include fundraiser HANNAH TAYLOR, chartered accountant HELEN WILLIAMSON, freelance arts marketing consultant JANINA MUNDY, Artistic Director and CEO of Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre Trust JON GILCHRIST, and Arcadia’s Chief Executive SIMON CHAPLIN.
“Building a board is hard and so I cannot stress how brilliant it is that we have been able to attract such skilled, experienced, and knowledgeable individuals that want to play a part in rebuilding the organisation,” Craig said.
He added that recruitment is ongoing to ensure the Board has the “right balance of skills and knowledge” and is “ representative of the community it serves”.
