The Storyhouse, which contains an 800-capacity auditorium, a library, independent cinema, restaurant and rooftop bar, is the first professional theatre to operate in the city since the closure of the Gateway Theatre in 2007. The two-and-a-half-year £37m renovation of the former Odeon cinema was funded by Cheshire West and Chester Council and Arts Council England.
