Arts practitioners are being asked to contribute to the development of a new pan-European project leading to the first internationally accredited training courses for delivering arts activity in prisons. Modules covering all aspects of prison arts delivery will be developed over the next two years with funding from the European Commission. Cred-Ability, a project run by a consortium of three UK-based and three European partners, will develop the programme. The Prison Arts Foundation, Seeds, The College of Teachers, aufBruch in Germany, the Culture College in Latvia and the University of Educational Sciences in Lithuania will be building on courses already developed in the UK by the Prison Arts Foundation and Seeds, and these will be tested and adapted to different European settings. Practitioners working in the field are being invited to contribute to the development of the modules through workshops, information exchanges and an international conference in summer 2014. Those already running, or interested in delivering arts projects in prisons can complete an online questionnaire, deadline Friday 29 March.
