LILLI GEISSENDORFER will step down as Director of Jerwood Arts at the end of July.

In September, she will become Deputy Director of the Creative Policy and Evidence Centre.

Across her five-year tenure at Jerwood Arts, Geissendorfer played a significant role in reshaping the organisation’s funding approach and expanding its partnerships and national reach.

She launched the biannual commissioning and exhibition opportunity Jerwood Survey and facilitated the creation of almost 100 year-long job opportunities through Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries.

Under Geissendorfer’s leadership, Jerwood Arts has invested £10m of funding in early-career artists, makers, curators and producers.

Thanking Geissendorfer for her contribution and leadership, Chair RUPERT TYLER said she leaves the organisation in a “strong position for continued success”.

“We are confident that Lilli and the team will make this a smooth transition for all our artists and partners and we will set out our plans for Jerwood Arts in due course.”

“I have not done this job alone,” Geissendorfer added.

“It has been the greatest privilege to work with and for the most brilliant team, freelancers and incredible people from organisations across the arts and funding sectors to collaborate and cook up new ideas to respond to artists’ needs through challenging times.

“My heartfelt thanks to all the artists we’ve been so proud to empower, and my colleagues, peers and board for trusting me with this responsibility.”
