Lady Sarah Chatto becomes Royal Ballet President

The Royal Opera House has announced LADY SARAH CHATTO as President of The Royal Ballet.

Vice President of the ballet company since 2004, Lady Chatto takes on the role following the news that HM KING CHARLES has accepted the position of Patron of The Royal Ballet. 

Her mother, the late PRINCESS MARGARET, was the first President of the ballet company in 1957.

Chatto is a painter who exhibits under the name Sarah Armstrong-Jones. She is Vice President of The Royal Drawing School and Patron of the Frederick Ashton Foundation.

Director of The Royal Ballet, KEVIN O'HARE, said:  “I am absolutely delighted that The Lady Sarah Chatto has agreed to accept the position of President of The Royal Ballet. As a long-standing and close friend of the Company, we are all deeply grateful that she will continue her dedicated care and support as our new President.”
