Malvern Theatres has established a new senior leadership structure to oversee its £20m Levelling Up investment, which will see new performance spaces.

Chief Executive NIC LLOYD moves to the role of Artistic Director, while former Marketing and Box Office Director FRED MORONI becomes Executive Director.

CANDICE PEARSON, who has worked with Malvern Theatres since 2007 alongside holding roles at Cheltenham Festivals, Hay Festival and English National Ballet School, will now head up the Comms and Development departments.

Lloyd has been involved with the venue for decades, overseeing Malvern’s National Lottery-funded refurbishment in 1997 and transition from council control to a charity. He will continue to manage the theatre’s producing arm.

He said: “Malvern Theatres was one of the National Lottery’s first success stories, with the theatre thriving and delivering far beyond the original investment, both for the region and the national arts scene.”

“This Levelling Up investment will allow Malvern Theatres to evolve and keep pace with the changing world, ensuring that the region has a top-quality and diverse cultural offering, with participation, creation and audience opportunities.”

Pearson added: “It’s an exciting time for us as we embark on this proposed major capital project, which will transform the region."
