SUE WILLIAMSON has been appointed Vice Chair of The Reading Agency's board of trustees.

Williamson worked in public libraries for 18 years, culminating as Head of Library Services in St Helens before joining the Arts Council in 2018 as National Director for Libraries. She currently serves as President of CILIP, the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals.

She joins PAUL KELLY, who served as Vice Chair prior to becoming Chair of the organisation in February.

"We are thrilled to welcome Sue to our Board of Trustees as Vice Chair," KAREN NAPIER, CEO of The Reading Agency, said.

"Her passion for reading and dedication to public libraries make her an invaluable addition as we continue our mission to inspire more people to read."

Williamson said: "The Reading Agency plays a crucial role in opening up the life-changing opportunities that reading brings. After joining the Board last year, I am incredibly excited to use my appointment to help to advance and advocate for their important work nationally.”
