CLARISSA WIDYA and KIM PEARCE are stepping down as co-Artistic Directors of Papergang Theatre after leading the British East and South East Asian-focused (BESEA) company for the last decade.

Widya was a founding member of the theatre company, established in 2013. During her tenure, she also worked as a theatre producer at Applecart Arts and is the Manager of the London Theatre Consortium.

Joining Papergang in 2016, Pearce has also worked as a resident director at the National Theatre and on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in the West End. She is a freelance Voice and Performance Capture Director and Director of Acting on Rambert’s Peaky Blinders: The Redemption Of Thomas Shelby.

Pearce and Widya said: “Running the company has been an honour, but the time for new people and new ideas is now.

"The BESEA artist community has exponentially grown over the last decade, and others are perfectly placed to benefit from the development and opportunities that Papergang Theatre has offered us.

"We hope that a new leadership team can develop their skills during their tenure and can continue to influence the wider industry."

Papergang is seeking two practitioners to lead the company forward.
