Refreshed board appointed at Yorkshire Sculpture Park
Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP) has welcomed a fresh cohort of board members replacing several trustees who are stepping down.
The new appointments to both the main board and a newly created Trading and Enterprise Board follow a governance review effected by CLARE LILLEY, who became Director in 2022.
YSP Chair PETER CLEGG said: “The last two years have been both challenging and exciting for YSP trustees. We have said a fond farewell to our Founding Director [PETER MURRAY] and to board members who have served us with real dedication over the years.
He continued: “And we have appointed a cohort of new trustees and advisors who bring exceptional energy and expertise to the board.”
KERRY BISHOP, JOHN DUNNING, and SAM HENNEY will join the Trading and Enterprise Board, while ALICE BOFF, HANNAH CORK, STEVE HOLLAND, KATY WICKREMESINGHE, ISABEL WILLIAMS, and HELEN WHITEHOUSE will all take up roles on the main voard.
Founder and Director of creative business consultancy Know Your Place, Bishop previously served as Managing Director at London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts, following six years as Chief Operating Officer at Frieze.
Boff is the Head of Development at Artangel, which commissions works of art for the public realm. An experienced fundraiser, she has previously worked with RADA, the ICA, 14-18 NOW and the Royal Academy.
As former Finance Director at Factory International in Manchester and current Financial Advisor at SXSW London, Cork’s experience includes financial, accountancy and governance roles. She was previously Commercial Finance Analyst for Pets at Home and Head of Finance for Citation Professional Solutions.
Dunning is Principal Lecturer in Hospitality Management and Employer Engagement at Sheffield Business School and Sheffield Hallam University, with experience developing consultancy services for Gordon Ramsay Holdings.
With a 25-year career in senior leadership positions and consultancy within the cultural sector, Henney has worked with the National Theatre, Bodleian Libraries and Disney Theatrical Productions.
CEO and Chair of chemical distributor Brenntag AG, Holland is also a supporter of Manchester-based Feelgood Theatre Productions.
Wickremesinghe is the founder of KTW London and The Wick, a global consultancy and content platform. She serves as a young patron for the Royal Academy, Serpentine Future Contemporaries and the V&A.
Chief Marketing Officer for car rental franchise Green Motion International, Williams was previously Director of Marketing Strategy at Booking.com.
Whitehouse is the Natural History Museum's COO. She previously served as Deputy Director for museums and cultural property at DCMS for six years and spent a decade in the Ministry of Justice.
YSP Director Lilley said: “The calibre of individuals joining YSP’s governance is remarkable, reinforcing our reputation as a leading global arts organisation and beloved national and regional institution.
