TOM SLEIGH has been re-appointed Chair of City of London Corporation’s Barbican Centre Board.

The board, which Sleigh has led since May 2020, is responsible for overseeing the Barbican Centre, which is owned, funded and administrated by City of London Corporation.

At present, the City Corporation is working on the Barbican Renewal project, a multi-million pound upgrade of the arts centre.

Alongside this, the Barbican will be involved in the City Corporation’s Destination City Programme, which aims to make the Square Mile a leading leisure destination for visitors, workers, and residents.

Sleigh is Group Corporate Affairs Director at The Bank of London and represents the ward of Bishopsgate in the Square Mile. He sits on several City of London Corporation committees, including its Culture, Heritage and Libraries commitee.

He said he is “delighted” to have been re-elected.

“This is a crucial time as we move forward with the Barbican Renewal project, continue our progress on making the Barbican a more equal and fair place, and  work to ensure continuing financial stability.

“I am looking forward to building on decades of achievement and helping to deliver the next phase of success for this cultural powerhouse.”
