Stockroom’s CEO announces departure
MARTIN DEBRYSHIRE is leaving his role as CEO of Stockroom, a production company and writers room for theatre.
Derbyshire has spent eleven years at the company, overseeing the production of eighteen – mostly touring – productions. In 2021, he led the company through a rebrand and last autumn, he spearheaded its move into a new performance home in North London.
He will leave in April to work on new projects.
“It’s been a privilege to work at Out of Joint and Stockroom and I am especially grateful to all the people who have given me opportunities, worked with the company and been involved in the productions,” Derbyshire said. “The board and the staff have been extremely supportive over the last 18 months and it now feels like it’s time for a new and exciting chapter for the company.”
Stockroom’s Board Chair, MARK POWELL, said Derbyshire led Stockroom “with remarkable vision, skill and determination during periods of great change”.
“His passionate belief in equity and representation has been central in delivering recent shifts in strategy and production development,” Powell added. “We're extremely grateful for his commitment and resilience and wish him the very best in his new portfolio of work.”
