Arts Alive Executive Director to step down
IAN KERRY will be leaving his post as Executive Director of rural touring organisation Arts Alive after 25 years.
Having begun his career as a touring actor, Kerry went on to work for many theatre education organisations before moving to arts consultancy.
After setting up Artful Management, he played a central role in establishing Arts Alive in 1999, known then as Shropshire Live.
At Arts Alive, Kerry formed Flicks in the Sticks, a cinema touring community spaces and village halls in Shropshire and Herefordshire, which has grown to present over 1,000 screenings a year.
In 2022, Kerry penned an open letter to Arts Council England Chief Executive Darren Henley on Arts Council England's Let's Create strategy, raising concerns about the impact of funding decisions on cultural life in rural areas.
Arts Alive will soon begin the recruitment process for Kerry's successor.
