Barbican CEO departs after 39 years

Plymouth’s Barbican Theatre Chief Executive SHEILA SNELLGROVE is stepping down after 39 years with the organization next year. The company has grown from a touring Theatre In Education company with no base, to become a regular producer of accessible performance and training, both at its main premises at the Barbican and across the city. Snellgrove was instrumental in developing Plymouth Cultural Education Partnership, which recently received £1m for work in Plymouth schools.
