Bazalgette appointed Creative Industries Council chair

Sir PETER BAZALGETTE has been appointed Co-Chair of the Creative Industries Council, a joint government and industry forum.

He will work alongisde DCMS Minister NADINE DORRIES and KWASI KWARTENG, Minister for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

Bazalgette suceeds BBC Director General TIM DAVIE from December 1.

Currently the Chair of ITV, Bazalgette is a former Royal Television Society President, Deputy Chair of the National Film & TV School, and Chair of Arts Council England.

He said "this is a pivotal time" for the council to drive the Government's growth policies.
