KATHRYN BLACKER has been appointed as York Museum Trust's next Chief Executive following the departure of REYAHN KING, who stepped down in February to take up post as Director of Heritage Properties at the National Trust for Scotland.

Blacker is currently Chapter Steward and Chief Operating Officer of York Minister where she has worked for the past nine years. During this time, she has overseen projects aimed at diversifying income, ensuring financial and environmental sustainability and implementing systems to better understand audiences and businesses.

Before her tenure at York Minister, Blacker led the National Media Museum as Deputy Director & Head of Public Programme and held roles in the BBC BAFTA team, BBC Sport and the Science Museum Group.

She will take up her new role at York Museums Trust in 2023.
