Boyle and Cottrell-Boyce to advise Shakespeare North

Director and Producer DANNY BOYLE and writer FRANK COTTRELL-BOYCE, the creative team behind the London Olympics opening ceremony, have signed up as Special Advisors to The Shakespeare North Playhouse in Prescot. Currently under construction, The Playhouse is due to open to the public in 2022, with a flexible theatre with capacity for up to 472 seats, based on the 17th century ‘cockpit-in-court’ design. It will also feature an exhibition and visitor centre and additional performance spaces including an outdoor performance garden dedicated to the late Sir Ken Dodd.
