SIR NIGEL CARRINGTON will step down as Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Arts London at the end of the year.

He has been the institution's longest serving Vice-Chancellor, joining in 2008. He was knighted in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2019 for services to higher education and the creative industries.

A statement released by UAL said Carrington plans to "continue in public service on a non-executive basis in the future, including in higher education, culture and the creative industries". A search to appoint his successor will start imminently.
