Charnwood Arts announces new CEO

SHIRLEY NOVAK has been appointed the new CEO for Charnwood Arts. This follows the passing of founder KEVIN RYAN after a short illness earlier this year. His emphasis for Charnwood Arts was on work at local level while making connections regionally, nationally and worldwide, and the community arts and media organisation has undertaken work in India, Japan and Brazil under his leadership.

Novak was previously CEO of Newark Mind. Her background in promoting positive physical and mental health and wellbeing through creative learning will help overcome barriers to people making participative art and look to build on Ryan’s legacy.
