JORDAN PAUL CLARKE will work with the British Youth Music Theatre (BYMT) next year after being selected as the next Cameron Mackintosh Resident Composer.

The scheme, run by Mercury Musical Developments and Musical Theatre Network, offers musical theatre composers placements with producing organisations.

A trained composer, musical director and improviser, Clarke was selected from a shortlist of six composers.

BYMT has offered the five other finalists – ADAM HOWELL, MATT REGAN, JOANNA TAYLOR, MICHAEL BETTERIDGE and NIMRITA KAUR – project work in 2022.

"Opportunities like these – which allow artists to freely focus on creating new musical theatre with resources and financial support – are rare blessings," Clarke said.
