Creative leadership changes at Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch

Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch has announced changes to its creative leadership team, with Artistic Director DOUGLAS RINTOUL leaving for New Wolsey Theatre in May.

MAISEY BAWDEN and DANIELLE KASSARATÉ will job share an Associate Director (Talent Development) role.

The pair co-founded Mawa Theatre, the UK’s first all Black, all female Shakespeare Company.

TIM JACKSON, CAROLINE LESLIE and STEF O’DRISCOLL are set to direct at the theatre throughout the year.

Jackson will direct a musical in the autumn and Leslie this year’s pantomime, whilst O’Driscoll directs at QTH for the first time.

Graeae theatre company will take on the role of Creative Associate. Their team of associate artists will support leadership in innovation at QTH, helping the venue discover and work with more Deaf and disabled artists 

QTH Executive Director MATTHEW RUSSELL says the new team will diversify the theatre's talent.

“It's an innovative opportunity to experiment with different forms of what creative leadership might mean to Queen's Theatre Hornchurch.”
