East London Dance names new Chair
JACQUELINE ROSE has been appointed Chair at East London Dance. She takes over the role from MOIRA SINCLAIR OBE following a 7-year tenure.
Rose is Senior Manager for Culture and Creative Industries at the Greater London Authority and has had a long association with East London Dance as a former Director of Big Dance and senior dance policymaker at Arts Council England.
“I am a huge long-time fan of East London Dance," said Rose, "having worked with the organisation and its previous directors over many years, including my time leading Big Dance. It is very exciting to join its new leadership team in forging a bright new future for the organisation and building on Moira’s significant legacy.
“I am proud to be part of the organisation’s next phase of development to further support and grow dance in east London.”
Joint Creative Directors and CEOs of East London Dance, TIA HASSAN and KATE SCANLAN, said they were “thrilled" to have secured Rose as their new Chair.
They said, “Jacqueline shares East London Dance’s values and is ready to join us in our continued support of youth engagement, the development and nurturing of talent and the platforming of next-generation artists and creative leaders in dance.
"Together, our ambition is to make the organisation more sustainable and relevant for its people, starting by creating an artist advisory board to share leadership, developing and diversifying our board, and finding a co-chair that makes us more reflective of our communities.”
