Executive Director of Kiln to depart
DAISY HEATH will step down as Executive Director of Kiln Theatre in December.
Her departure follows news that Artistic Director INDHU RUBASINGHAM is also leaving.
Joining the company in 2019, Heath has worked alongside Rubasingham for nearly five years.
The pair led the programme of work on the theatre’s main stage, including Zadie Smith’s The Wife of Willesden and Ryan Calais-Cameron’s Retrograde, and ran an education and outreach programme.
Rubasingham called working with Heath a “real joy”.
“She has led compassionately and astutely and achieved huge amounts for Kiln.
“Her rigour, care and foresight has allowed Kiln to flourish in these difficult times."
The theatre's Chair SITA MCINTOSH said Heath had "set very high standards for the organisation, steering Kiln through five challenging years that included a global pandemic".
“Kiln Theatre is a very special place, and it has been an extraordinary five years working with Indhu and the exceptional team here,” Heath said.
“Indhu’s mission for Kiln to be a theatre for all has been constantly inspiring and her visionary and tireless leadership both in Kilburn and across British theatre has been trailblazing.
“Our departure will create space for a new team to run Kiln, and I look forward to cheering on this exciting next chapter.”
Kiln Theatre will now recruit an Interim Executive Director, with a permanent role advertised only when a new Artistic Director is in post.
