ADRIAN JACKSON is standing down as Artistic Director and joint CEO of Cardboard Citizens, the theatre company he founded in 1991.

Under Jackson’s artistic directorship the company has become an authority on theatre in the field of arts for social justice, building greater awareness and understanding of homelessness. He said: “When we started we were a curiosity and unique in the arts sector. Now much of what we pioneered has become mainstream best practice.”

Jackson will continue to collaborate with Cardboard Citizens, becoming an Associate Artist and directing a major new production to celebrate their 30th anniversary this October.

Prue Skene CBE, Chair of Trustees at Cardboard Citizens, paid tribute to his work, describing him as  an “inspirational figure in the world of arts for social change”.
