BILL FREEMAN is joining Help Musicians in the newly created role of Director of Musicians’ Services.

The music charity says the role responds to musicians' needs throughout the pandemic, with Freeman "well positioned to bring a new dimension to the organisation".

Currently Chief Executive of the Community Transport Association, Freeman previously held senior roles at the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action and the British Youth Council.

"Over the pandemic I’ve watched some of my favourite artists show amazing tenacity and resourcefulness just to get by and it made me think about the precarious nature of their work and careers and what can be done to help," Freeman said.

He will begin working with Help Musicians in March.
