Glyndebourne’s Managing Director to retire
Glyndebourne's Managing Director SARAH HOPWOOD will retire this autumn.
Hopwood's career at Glyndebourne has spanned almost 25 years. She has focussed on the charity's long-term sustainability and financial practices with an eye towards its independence.
Hopwood oversaw construction of Glyndebourne's Production Hub, the opera house's biggest capital investment for 30 years, and developing the Glyndebourne Academy.
Following her retirement, Hopwood will join Glyndebourne's board as a trustee.
"I’m exceedingly proud of what Glyndebourne has achieved. I have always seen it as my responsibility to ensure that we have the talent, the technology, and the funding to deliver on our world-class artistic ambition," she said.
"I leave Glyndebourne in very capable hands, to write the next exciting chapter, and feel very honoured to be able to continue supporting such a wonderful organisation in the future."
