London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) has named BARBARA HANNIGAN as an Associate Artist.

A soprano and conductor, Hannigan has previously collaborated with the LSO and will hold this newly created position for three years.

LSO’s Associate Artists will work alongside conductors to create programmes and contribute to repertoire choices throughout the season.

Managing Director Kathryn McDowell said the exploration of new repertoire is “precisely what the LSO thrives on”.

“During her time as an LSO Associate Artist, Barbara will continue to create entertaining and stimulating concert programmes challenging how orchestral music is presented and played.

“The LSO also shares Barbara’s passion for supporting young artists and providing them with new opportunities.”
