The Southbank Centre has announced MISAN HARRIMAN as its new Chair after an extensive search for "a visionary leader with a deep passion for the potential of multi-arts programming".

He is the Founder of media content and commerce company What We Seee, as well as an accomplished artist, photographer and social commentator.

Harriman succeeds the centre's first female chair, SUSAN GILCHRIST, who ends her term on July 1.

CEO Elaine Bedell commented: "I’m delighted that Misan – a truly inspirational leader who’s entirely aligned to the vision and values of the Southbank Centre – is following in her footsteps"

Current board member LUKE MAYHEW has been appointed Deputy Chair.
