Hassan and Scalan to share East London Dance roles

East London Dance has appointed TIA HASSAN and KATE SCANLAN as joint Creative Director and Chief Executive on a job share basis.

The pair will take up the role on October 4, with Chief Executive and Artistic Director POLLY RISBRIDGER leaving at the end of October.

Hassan first worked with East London Dance in 2009 as Marketing and Communications Manager and has since built a career as a creative producer.

Scanlan has two decades of experience working as a creative producer and was a founding member of the Breakin' Convention producing team.

“We have both worked with East London Dance over the last 15 years and have a genuine love for the organisation and its work, participants, artists and audiences. We are excited to be a part of this next phase of the organisation," they said.

Hassan and Scanlan's appointment comes as East London Dance prepares to move into a purpose built home, The Talent House, located at Sugar House Island in Stratford.
