Hochhauser to chair RCEWA
The Secretary of State has named ANDREW HOCHHAUSER Chair of The Reviewing Committee on the Export of Works of Art and Objects of Cultural Interest (RCEWA).
Hochhauser’s appointment will commence 17 September 2022 for a four-year term.
With a Master’s in Law from LSE, Hochhauser is a Queen’s Counsel at Essex Court Chambers, a Deputy High Court Judge, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Hon Counsel to the Dean and Chapter of Westminster Abbey. He specialises in commercial and employment litigation.
Hochhauser also holds a MA from the Courtauld Institute of Art, where he studied British Modernism. He is a former Trustee of the V&A, Chair of the Samuel Courtauld Trust and an ex officio member of the Board of the Courtauld Institute of Art and Governor of the University of the Arts London.
