Lord BOB KERSLAKE has been named Sheffield Culture Collective's new chair. He will succeed Dame JULIE KENNY in September.

One of Kerslake's main tasks will be to move ahead with the collective's strategy for unlocking Sheffield's economic and social potential, launched in July.

The strategy highlighted four arts projects as pivotal to local cultural development: S1 Artspace at Park Hill, The Graves Gallery and Central Library, education and music partnership Harmony Works and Tinsley Art Project.

Kerslake said he is "looking forward to working with others to make the strategy a reality".
