Leonie Bell to lead V&A Dundee

The Board of V&A Dundee have appointed LEONIE BELL (pictured) as the new Director. She replaces Founding Director PHILIP LONG, who led the development of V&A Dundee, from its early planning to opening in September 2018, and recently took over the role of Chief Executive of National Trust for Scotland.

Currently Strategic Lead for the Future Paisley Partnership at Renfrewshire Council, Bell leads Paisley’s £110m cultural regeneration plans following on from its UK City of Culture Bid. She also chairs the Advisory Board of Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art and is a trustee of the Edinburgh International Festival. Previously she was Head of Culture Strategy & Engagement at the Scottish Government where she developed Scotland’s first cultural strategy in over 10 years. Other senior roles have included leading Scotland's cultural response to London 2012 and Glasgow 2014 as Creative Programmer for Scottish Arts Council/Creative Scotland, and then becoming Director of Arts & Engagement for Creative Scotland.
