International biennial festival of theatre LIFT has named ROSIE MILLARD as its new Chair of the Board of Trustees.

She will replace BERNARD DONOGHUE in November.

Millard has been a journalist and broadcaster for over 30 years and was BBC Arts Correspondent from 1995-2004.

Currently Chair of BBC Children in Need, Firstsite Arts Centre and Deputy Chair of Opera North, Millard was Hull 2017 City of Culture Board Chair for four years, for which she was appointed an OBE.

"To be immersed in LIFT's unique blend of daring and artistry will be an enormous privilege," Millard said.

"Theatre has always been at the heart of London life, but perhaps the joy and innovation of LIFT has never been so necessary."
