ANITA SETHI is Manchester Museum's first ever Writer-in-Residence.

The writer, broadcaster and author of 'I Belong Here: A Journey along the Backbone of Britain' will take up a year long residency, hosting free workshops that help attendees develop their creative writing skills.

Sethi says the appointment feels like "a match made in heaven".

"The museum is rich in history and I’m eager to delve into the fascinating objects here, all of which tell a story. As well as making the most of the setting, I’m looking forward to working alongside inspiring women."
