Micklem to chair Forced Entertainment
Sheffield theatre company Forced Entertainment has named DAVID MICKLEM Chair.
He succeeds DEBORAH CHADBOURN, who departs following six years in post.
Micklem was formerly Artistic Director of Battersea Arts Centre and Chair at Street Wisdom, an organisation providing free audio guides and creative practices for people as they walk.
A writer, producer, programmer and arts consultant, Micklem specialises in strategic planning. He has considerable experience supporting theatres and theatre companies on long-term strategy, and helping cultural organisations to define and articulate their core purpose.
His current clients include the National Theatre of Scotland, Roundhouse, Capital Theatres and Plymouth Theatre Royal, while he previously worked with London’s Southbank Centre, The British Council, Arts Council England, Scotland’s Eden Court, and Contact, Manchester.
He is also the co-founder of 64 Million Artists and an Associate with CounterCulture, peoplemakeitwork and FutureCity.
“Delighted to have joined the board of Forced Entertainment as Chair,” Micklem wrote on LinkedIn.
“I've loved this company for 20 years and I'm looking forward to the next chapter in their lifelong experiment in groundbreaking theatre-making.”
