Morrison to lead Association for Cultural Enterprises
GORDON MORRISON is joining the Association for Cultural Enterprises as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in September.
He will succeed outgoing CEO JILL FENWICK, who joined the organisation in 2010.
Morrison has spent the past five years as CEO of the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions (ASVA), the representative trade body for the attractions industry in Scotland.
Formerly to his work with ASVA, Morrison held management positions within both the tourism and heritage sectors. In his role as Regional Quality and Tourism Manager at VisitScotland, he was responsible for the delivery of the Visitor Attraction Grading Scheme. At Museums and Galleries Edinburgh, he led the commercial and visitor operations at 13 venues.
Morrison sits on the board of various sector groups including the Scottish Tourism Alliance Council, the Scottish Tourism Skills Group and the Scottish Thistle Awards Industry Panel.
Association for Cultural Enterprises Chair, CAROLINE BROWN, said Morrison will be a “terrific ambassador” and “continue to lead with the same values, commitment and expertise” the organisation experienced under Fenwick.
