New CEOs to job-share at Birmingham Museums Trust

Birmingham Museums Trust, which manages the city’s museum collection and venues on behalf of Birmingham City Council, has announced ZAK MENSAH (pictured right) and SARA WAJID (pictured left) as joint CEOs to take over from DR ELLEN MCADAM who stepped down earlier this year. Mensah leaves Bristol Museums where he is Head of Transformation: Culture & Creative Industries; and Wajid is currently Head of Engagement for the Museum of London’s capital project, prior to which she was Head of Interpretation at Birmingham Museums Trust.

Of the 45 institutions represented on the National Museums Directors Council, only one other is currently led by a person of colour, and this is the only shared CEO role among the group.
