New choreographers join National Youth Dance Wales

LEA ANDERSON and ARIELLE SMITH have joined National Youth Dance Wales (NYDW) as choreographers for the upcoming season.

Anderson has choreographed more than 100 works during her career and was awarded an MBE for services to dance in 2002. Smith was winner of the Emerging Artist category at the National Dance Awards 2021.

The pair will each create a new work for NYDW as the organisation prepares for its first summer residency since 2019. 

They will both perform alongside Ballet Cymru as part of the ballet’s autumn tour.
