New leaders at Citizens Theatre

Award-winning poet and writer JACKIE KAY has been appointed to Citizens Theatre’s board of directors. The Costa-shortlisted author is also Chancellor of the University of Salford, Professor of Creative Writing at Newcastle University and Vice President of the Royal Society of Literature. She was named Scots Makar—the National Poet for Scotland—in March 2016.

Also joining the theatre is theatre-maker and producer CATRIN EVANS. She will lead Citizens Theatre’s learning and community engagement programme. She is Artistic Director of A Moment’s Peace Theatre Company and has directed and produced for National Theatre of Scotland, Dundee Rep, Grid Iron and A Play, A Pie and A Pint.
