Pallant House Gallery appoints new Chair

JOHN AYTON has been named as Pallant House Gallery's next Chair.

He begins his term on March 25, replacing JOHN BOOTH, who recently became Chair of the National Gallery.

Ayton has a longstanding relationship with the Chichester gallery, having launched its first development advisory group in 2007.

A former Chair of the Cass Sculpture Foundation, Ayton says he is delighted to take on his new role.

"With the changing role of museums and the way in which the public want to interact with them there could be no more exciting time to engage with a wider audience whilst seeking a deeper engagement with our existing public."
