Poole Arts Trust appoints MT Rainey as chair
MT RAINEY is to be Poole Arts Trust’s new chair.
Rainey has been on the board of Poole Arts Trust, which runs the Lighthouse venue – the largest regional arts centre in the UK outside of London and home to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra – since 2020.
Poole Arts said Rainey has contributed her expertise to a range of projects, such as supporting the team to develop a new website and refresh the brand.
Rainey is the former Deputy Chair of Channel 4, with a background in marketing and experience in commercial roles across the creative industries. She was honoured with an OBE for services to advertising in the 2015.
After spending eight years as Planning Director at Chiat/Day with Apple and other early Silicon Valley companies in the US, Rainey founded and stood as CEO of advertising agency Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe.
She also served as Vice Chair of Creative Skillset, the UK Sector Skills Council for the Creative Industries and is a Trustee of The Booker Prize.
“I’ve been coming to Lighthouse since I first had a home here in Poole in 2004 – in fact, it was one of the reasons I came. For an arts venue outside of London the quality and diversity of the programme is amazing,” Rainey commented.
“It’s a privilege to be asked to Chair this very loved, respected and important organisation.”
