After 10 years on the board, JOANNA PRIOR will step down as Chair of the Women's Prize Trust this month.

ANNA RAFERTY will act as interim Chair of the trust, which has grown during Prior's tenure from "a committee of like-minded individuals… to a 21st Century charity with a major philanthropic, engagement and educational programme" supporting women writers, Founding Director KATE MOSSE said.

Prior is beginning a new role as CEO of publishing house Pan Macmillan. Women's Prize Trust Director CLAIRE SHANAHAN wished her the best of luck.

"Jo has overseen our transformation… and steered us through the pandemic with integrity, pragmatism and vision."

Prior said she will continue supporting the trust's work as a Prize Circle patron.
