RTYDS names new joint chairs
The Regional Theatre Young Director Scheme has announced CHRISTINA CLARKE and PAM FRASER SOLOMON as joint Chairs of the Board of Trustees.
With 11 years' experience in advertising, Clarke set up C21 Creative Communications, which works across healthcare, social housing, public sector, education, consumer and charities.
Fraser Solomon is the Head of Creative Producing at Mountview. Previously, she was a senior BBC Drama producer and has directed over a hundred hours of audio dramas. Her career began in fringe and regional theatre, and she is currently the Interim Chair of Eclipse Theatre Company and the Chair of Theatre Deli.
Clarke said she was “delighted” to be joining RTYDS: “My career has been focused on helping organisations successfully create and communicate change to overcome inequality in all its forms. So, I’m thrilled to bring my expertise and outside sector perspective to an industry that has always been close to my heart, especially at such a defining time.”
Fraser Solomon added: “RTYDS is known for providing supported training programmes and career development initiatives for creative theatre-makers, which resonates with my leadership role in postgraduate producer training.
“I have seen the significant impact of the company’s mission to create opportunities for those historically under-represented in theatre, a commitment that aligns with my own work in the sector.”
SUE EMMAS, RTYDS Artistic Director, said of the appointments: “We are very excited for Pam and Christina to join our Board of Trustees as Joint Chair at this pivotal moment for RTYDS.
"Pam brings her exceptional expertise as an award-winning producer and director, and Christina her 25 years of experience in the design and marketing industry.
"Both have an unwavering commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.”
