Simpson steps down at Theatre Royal

KAREN SIMPSON, CEO and Artistic Director at Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds, will be leaving in February after six-and-a-half years in post. Living with an incurable cancer diagnosis for the past two-and-a-half years, she now wants to spend more time with family and friends. Under her leadership the theatre has reconnected with the local community and introduced a new business model. She has paid tribute to the “overwhelming” support she has received from the board, staff, volunteers and the general public which enabled her to continue working until now.
