Theatres Trust reappoints three trustees
ANNIE HAMPSON OBE, JANE SPIERS and KATIE TOWN have been reappointed trustees at Theatres Trust, the national advisory public body for theatres in the UK.
Spiers first joined as a trustee in 2019, while Town and Hampson were appointed in 2020.
Hampson carries 45 years' senior planning experience, with specialised knowledge of major projects, the development process, historic buildings, works of alteration, and operating and managing in Local Government.
She retired as Chief Planning Officer and Development Director at City of London in 2020, the governing body of the Square Mile. Before that, she was Planning Services and Development Director at the organisation.
Hampson also chairs the Diocesan Advisory Committee for London, overseeing 600 churches.
Chair of National Theatre of Scotland, Spiers also holds the posts of Non-Executive Director of Edinburgh UNESCO City of Literature Trust, Sage Gateshead and Peacock Printmakers. She was Chief Executive of Aberdeen Performing Arts for eleven years, stepping down in 2023.
Prior to this, Spiers was the inaugural Chief Executive of Horsecross Arts, which operates Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre.
Town was the General Manager for National Theatre's Learning Department before becoming Executive Director of Theatre Royal Wakefield in 2015.
As Deputy Chair and Committee member of Wakefield Cultural Consortium, she steered a three-year Cultural Destinations project funded by Arts Council England.
Alongside a trustee, Town is also Vice Chair of Theatres Trust.
The trustees take up post until September 2026.
