Wakely becomes BBC Radio 3 Commissioning Executive

ELLARA WAKELY has been appointed BBC Radio 3’s Commissioning Executive.

She joins the existing team on a part-time basis for a two-year period to lead the channel’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in classical music.

A music education specialist, Wakely will combine her new role with continuing as Senior Learning Manager for BBC Proms and London Orchestras and Choirs.

Wakely says she is looking forward to bringing her experience of working in music education to Radio 3.

“In my work at the Proms, Orchestras and Choirs, I have dedicated myself to creating inclusive opportunities for the broadest audiences for classical music, and am passionate to continue this work in my new role.”
