HILARY DAVAN WETTON, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of City of London Choir (CLC), will retire in summer 2023.

Wetton joined CLC in 1989, becoming the second conductor in its 60 year history.

CLC says the choir developed a strong reputation for performances and recordings of 20th century English music during Wetton's tenure.

CLC Chair Daniel Mansfield thanked Wetton for his musicianship, drive and unrelating pursuit of excellence.

“He has been instrumental in shaping the CLC’s reputation as one of the best non-professional choirs in the country.”
