The founding Chairman of the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA), LORD LEE OF TRAFFORD, will be succeeded by BARONESS PATIENCE WHEATCROFT (pictured), an ALVA Board member since 2012, when he steps down in September after 30 years. Wheatcroft is a former trustee and Deputy Chairman of the British Museum, a former Editor of the Sunday Telegraph, a former Editor of The Wall Street Journal Europe, and former Business Editor of The Times. An unaffiliated peer, her maiden speech in the House of Lords was on the importance of the UK tourism economy.
